Oak Tree Corner Mosaic
The Oak Tree Corner Mosaic was created in 2014 as an intergenerational project with residents of St Mary’s Court and Avenue and pupils of Stephenson Studio School. It was funded by NWLDC Residents and Tenants Association and Leicestershire Police. It was created during workshops held throughout February and was unveiled on 29th March 2014. It was designed by Llynda Baugh.
The mosaic is located on the junction of Ashburton Road and Manor Road - very close to the spot where the old oak tree once stood. The original tree stood there for many hundreds of years and the mosaic contains items that relate to many of the myths and stories that the tree might have seen or heard. See if you can find them.
